Man accused of threat to woman, endangering child

An incident Sunday afternoon involving a woman and young child resulted in a night in jail for a Watertown man Tuesday night.

Aaron Wayne Cole, 37, of 145 N. Pleasant Street, apt 3 was charged with Harassment 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child when he turned himself in to Watertown police.

The arrest followed an investigation into a complaint from Sonya Sparacino of Watertown alleging a threat by Cole in the presence of her 4-year-old daughter at 1300 Huntington Street.

Cole was held pending arraignment in City of Watertown Court this morning.

Clayton man facing DWI, bad check charges

A couple of bad checks, written early in the year, compounded the problems facing a Clayton man when he was stopped for suspected drunk driving early Tuesday.

Stephen E. Frazier, 41, of 617 Apt C Union Street, Clayton was charged with DWI and other traffic violations when he was stopped by State Police for failing to stop at a Stop sign at Shimel Road and State Route 411 in the Town of Orleans at 10:55p.m. Monday.

Troopers turned Frazier over to the City of Watertown Police Department after a records check revealed he was wanted on two arrest warrants, each charging Issuing a Bad Check.

One check was written to The General Store on Bradley Street, Watertown on February 15th in the amount of $10.30. The second check was written at the P & C supermarket in Stateway Plaza, Watertown on March 1st in the amount of $16.69.

Frazier was held at the PSB. Following arraignment in Watertown City Court this morning, he was released on his own recognizance pending further court action on January 7th.

Man accused of grabbing woman by hair

A man police say was impaired by alcohol was arrested at his Watertown home Sunday evening when police were called to a domestic incident.

Kevin Scott Woodward, 36, of 731 State Street was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment 2nd Degree at 8:30 p.m.

Prior to his arrest, according to investigators, Woodward had been involved in a dispute with Christina M. Woodward in their apartment with their two children, ages 3 and 9, nearby.

Mr. Woodward is accused of grabbing Christina by the hair and throwing her on to a bed, upsetting the two young girls.

Woodward was transported to the PSB and held pending arraignment in City of Watertown Court this morning.

A check of records by city police revealed an active bench warrant from the city of Auburn for Woodward’s arrest but Auburn officials declined extradition.

WPD arrest women in stolen car

Two Watertown women were taken into custody early Sunday after they were spotted in a stolen car.

The driver, Bridget Nicole Yoas, 20, and a passenger, Katina Marie LaBarge, 35, both of 320 Winslow Street, apt 3 were arrested at the Nice & Easy store on Factory Street, Watertown at about 2:40 a.m. Sunday.

The women were each charged with Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree when a police officer observed them in a 1996 Volkswagon Cabriolet, valued at $3000.

Shalaina M. Rotella of S. Pleasant Street had reported the car stolen on Saturday.

Following processing at the PSB, Yoas and Labarge were released with appearance tickets for City of Watertown Court on November 25th.

Teen arrested for pot, probation violation

Watertown police say marijuana was found on a teen arrested Thursday on an unrelated charge.

Tyler R. Fiorentino, 17, of 610 Franklin Street was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Violation of Probation when officers took him into custody shortly before 1:00 a.m. on a warrant issued for the probation charge.

Fiorentino was issued an appearance ticket for Watertown City Court for the pot charge and then turned over to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Teen jailed for Disorderly Conduct

A disturbance in Watertown earned a city teen a night in jail Wednesday.

Nichole Marie Bell, 17, was charged with Disorderly Conduct when police were called to her home at 169 E. Division Street shortly before 4:00 p.m.

According to information in the WPD arrest report, Bell was warned several times to stop yelling and shouting obscenities prior to her arrest.

Bell was transported to the PSB and held pending arraignment in City of Watertown Court.

Woman accused of False Report

A Watertown woman, previously in trouble with the law on at least two occasions, was arrested once again Wednesday morning at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building when she turned herself in to city police to face charges related to an incident in September.

Tiffany Annmarie Bouyer, 22, of 651 Olive Street, apt 4 was charged with False Statement and False Report of an Incident 3rd Degree following an investigation into her statements to police on September 19th.

Officers believe Bouyer knowingly filed a false larceny report, saying someone had made unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account.

Following processing, Bouyer was released with an appearance ticket for Watertown City Court on November 24th.

In August 2007 Bouyer was arrested after her 3-year-old child was found unattended, playing outdoors. A few days later she was arrested on a marijuana charge.

Watertown woman charged with Mischief, Larceny

A Watertown woman was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with a theft at a city apartment last week.

Krystle Andrea Dailey, 22, of 629 Bradley Street was charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Petit Larceny when she was arrested at her home at about 5:10 p.m.

The arrest resulted from an investigation into an incident at the residence of Clinton R. Dailey on S. Hycliff Drive on November 6th.

After processing at the PSB, Ms. Dailey was released with an appearance ticket for City of Watertown Court on December 3rd.

Police say soldier refused to cooperate

Watertown police arrested a soldier on multiple charges following a traffic stop early Wednesday.

Mathew S. Murphy, 23, of 515 Clay Street was charged with Resisting Arrest, Under the Influence of Alcohol and mobile phone and safety belt violations when he was taken into custody at about 1:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Arlington Street. Later, at the PSB, he was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration.

Officers say Murphy pulled away when they attempted to handcuff him at the scene.

During processing at the PSB, Murphy refused to supply required personal information including his place of birth and social security number, police said.

Murphy was held on $500 bail pending arraignment in Watertown City Court this morning.

Second person charged for Blockbuster incident

A Jefferson County man, listed as a victim in a case involving a female suspect arrested Monday, is now accused of harassing the woman.

Thomas E. Horning, 45, of 20234 County Route 63 was charged with Harassment 2nd Degree when he was served a criminal summons at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday by Watertown police.

The summons was issued in connection with an incident at the Blockbuster store on Arsenal Street in Watertown on October 3rd involving 36-year-old Andrea Jo Morgia of
6149 State Route 3.

On Monday city police served a criminal summons to Morgia for her involvement in the same incident. The summons charged her with Harassment 2nd Degree as well.

Horning is to appear in City of Watertown Court on November 14th.

Man jailed for Disorderly Conduct

An incident in a fast food restaurant parking lot landed a Watertown man in jail early Monday morning.

Freddie L. Wright Jr., 34, of 149 Mechanic Street was charged with Disorderly Conduct when he was taken into custody at the Wendy’s on State Street at about 2:15 a.m.

Watertown police say Wright approached an officer in a threatening manner while yelling at officers and others nearby.

Wright was transported to the PSB and held pending arraignment in Watertown City Court.

Woman charged for October incident

A Jefferson County woman is facing a charge of Harassment 2nd Degree in connection with an incident in early October.

Andrea Jo Morgia, 36, of 6149 State Route 3 was issued a criminal summons Monday evening for an incident at the Blockbuster store on Arsenal street, Watertown on October 3rd.

According to information in the Watertown PD arrest report, the complainant was Thomas Horning of County Route 63.

Morgia is to answer the charge in City of Watertown Court on November 14th.

Teens charged with Petit Larceny

A pair of teen girls is accused of shoplifting at a Watertown drug store.

Julianna R. Ruppe, 16, of 104 S. Hamilton Street and Carolyn Davis, 16, of 1156 Academy Street were each charged with Petit Larceny when they were arrested at the Rite Aid store on State Street a few minutes after 4:00 p.m. Monday.

Watertown PD did not release any information on any items taken during the alleged thefts.

Following processing at the PSB, Ruppe and Davis were each released with an appearance ticket for City of Watertown Court on November 24th.

Couple accused of shoplifting

A Watertown couple was arrested Sunday when they turned themselves in at the PSB in connection with shoplifting accusations.

Kevin P. Beach Jr., 21, and Christina Mae Beach, 26, both of 414 Clay Street, apt 4 were each charged with Petit Larceny for the alleged theft of items at Kinney Drugs on State Street last week.

Mr. Beach is accused of stealing a 30-pac of Keystone Light beer while Ms. Beach is accused of stealing a one package of Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix. The thefts occurred on Tuesday at about 8:00 p.m.

Following processing, Mr. and Ms. Beach were each released with an appearance ticket for City of Watertown Court on November 19th.

New charge for Fort Drum man

A Fort Drum soldier, already incarcerated in Jefferson County Jail, was arrested Wednesday on a new charge.

Donald L. Hamill Jr., 19, of 10508 5th Armored Division Drive, Fort Drum is now charged with Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree in connection with a stolen motorcycle.

Investigators accuse Hamill of having a 2004 Honda CRF 250 dirt bike belonging to another Fort Drum man, William B. Brown, who is also a resident of 5th Armored Division Drive. The motorcycle is valued at $2400.

Hamill remains in county jail. He was scheduled for arraignment on the new charge in Watertown City Court this morning.

According to information in the Watertown PD arrest report, more charges against Hamill are pending grand jury action.

Hamill was arrested on October 24th in connection with a stolen all-terrain vehicle.

Man arrested after domestic incident

A domestic incident in the presence of a 3-year-old girl resulted in three charges against a Watertown man Wednesday.

Trenton Ja Mark James, 22, of 930 W. Main Street was charged with Harassment 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana when at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday.

City police investigators say James was involved in a physical dispute with his girlfriend, Christan Ann Gebo of Carthage, at about 3:30 p.m. at a Brainard Street apartment.

Ms. Gebo was pushed to the floor and hit in the face, allegedly by Gebo.

A glass smoking bowl with residue and a candy tin containing marijuana were found in James’ pants pocket when he was taken into custody.

James was transported to the PSB and held pending arraignment this morning in City of Watertown Court.

WPD say burglar wanted booze

Watertown police think a burglary suspect was looking for a drink on Factory Street early Thursday.

Barry Keith Clayton Jr., 22, of 312 Logan Street, Watertown was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of a Burglar Tool and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree when he was taken into custody on Polk Street at about 3:50 a.m.

Investigators believe Clayton was intending to steal a bottle of liquor when he allegedly used a screw driver to break a window at Mick’s Place at 204 Factory Street and enter the business. The double-hung window is valued at $350.

Clayton was transported to the PSB and held pending arraignment in Watertown City Court.

Man's broken bone leads to charges

A Watertown man treated for a broken bone is facing multiple charges after a phony name was used at a doctor’s office.

Jeremy Michael Fanelli-Cressman, 31, of 359 Franklin Street was charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree, Menacing 3rd Degree, Falsifying a Business Record and Violation of Parole when he was arrested Wednesday night.

Watertown PD investigators say the name Jason Williams was used by Fanelli-Cressman on October 8th and again on Wednesday in an attempt to defraud North Country Orthopedic Group at 300 Franklin Street where he had been treated for a broken leg.

Fanelli-Cressman is also accused of grabbing his girlfriend, Patricia Oatridge, and placing her in a choke hold during an incident prior to his arrest Wednesday night at about 11:30 p.m.

Police allege Fanelli-Cressman was in possession of 38.6 grams of marijuana in a backpack he was carrying.

Fanelli-Cressman was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he was held pending arraignment in City of Watertown Court this morning.

According to the archives of the Watertown Daily Times, Fanelli-Cressman has ahistory arrests going back to at least 1994 when he was charged with dealing marijuana while a student at Indian River High School.

Woman accused of attempting to thwart investigation

An investigation into incidents involving a missing person report in October led to the arrest of a Watertown woman Sunday.

Danielle N. Champion, 19, of 1620 Huntington Street, apt K8 was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child when she turned herself in at the PSB.

According to Watertown police, investigators questioned Champion as to the whereabouts of 16-year-old Lisha May Skeldon on October 21st. She denied knowing any information about Skeldon, who had been reported missing earlier.

Investigators believe Champion had transported Skeldon to a location in Edwards in St. Lawrence County.

After processing, Champion was released with an appearance ticket for City of Watertown Court on November 19th.

Man arrested after windshield punched

Damage to a woman’s car in Watertown resulted in the arrest of her boyfriend Sunday night.

Joshua N. Roshia, 25, of 409 Fairview Street was charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree when he was taken into custody on Huntington Street at about 10:30 p.m.

Police allege Roshia cracked the windshield of a car belonging to Jessica Stock of Watertown when he hit it with his fist.

Roshia was transported to the PSB where he was issued an appearance ticket for City of Watertown Court. He was released after posting $500 police bail.

Clayton man charged after leaving accident

A driver faces a drunk driving charge in connection with an early morning traffic mishap in the Town of Clayton on Sunday.

Rory M. Edwards, 49, of 225 Frontenac Blvd., Clayton was arrested shortly after 3:00 a.m. Sunday, charged with DWI.

According to information in the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department accident report, it was shortly after 2:00 a.m. when the 1993 Ford pickup truck Edwards was driving went off State Route 12 near County Route 9. A passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

Investigators say Edwards left the scene, leaving the passenger in a ditch.

Brownville man arrested for violating order of protection

State police arrested a Fort Drum soldier for violating a protection order.

Troopers arrested 37-year-old Stephen E. Mesa of County Route 54, Brownville on a charge of 2nd degree Criminal Contempt. They allege Mesa violated a court order of protection by harassing a family member that was protected by the order.

Mesa was arraigned in the Town of Brownville court and turned over to the Military Police at Fort Drum.

Police say teen had solen gift card

Police arrested a Watertown teen Thursday following an investigation into the theft of a gift card earlier in the month.

Ravan Rose Frangione, 18, of 604 Pine Street was charged with Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree when she was placed under arrest at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.

Investigators say, on October 8th, Frangione had possession of a JC Penney gift card, valued at $20, belonging to Lisa A. Lobdell of Mead Street, Watertown. The card was used at the JC Penny store at Salmon Run Mall.

Frangione was released with an appearance ticket for City of Watertown Court on November 12th.

Man accused of stealing electric motors

State Police charged a Jefferson County man with petty larceny for the alleged theft of a number of electric motors.

The motors, allegedly taken for sale as scrap metal, were taken from a location along U.S. Route 11 in Adams. Their value was put at $164.

Charles E. Martin III, no age or address listed, was issued an appearance ticket returnable in town of Adams court.

Prison inmate released, arrested as fugitive

An inmate finished his sentence at Watertown Correctional Facility, only to be put behind bars in Jefferson County Jail.

State Police say 21 year old Devon Womack is wanted in Virginia on charges of grand larceny and absconding from probation.

He's being held pending extradition proceedings.

Womack was arrested upon his release from state prison on Thursday, where he served a two year sentence for assault.

Calcium man charged with forcible touching

State Police say a Jefferson County touched the intimate parts of a 24 year old woman without her consent.

Gerardo Guzman, 36, Calcium is charged with a misdemeanor count of forcible touching.

The alleged incident happened in the town of Leray on October 26th.

Guzman was issued a ticket returnable in town of Leray court on November 3.

Man accused of stealing Maryland license

Watertown police arrested a city man Monday night following an investigation involving a missing driver license.

Steven P. Didas II, 22, of 1102 Academy Street was charged with Petit Larceny in connection with the theft of a Maryland driver license belonging to Nathaniel D. Young of Fort Drum. The license went missing on October 24th.

Didas was issued an appearance ticket for Watertown City Court on November 12th.

Black River man charged with Grand Larceny

A Black River man is accused of ripping off another member of his household over the course of six days earlier in the month.

Bobby Joe Cota, 30, of 27634 State Route 283, lot 55 was charged with Falsifying Business Records and Grand Larceny 4th Degree when he responded to the PSB Monday afternoon.

Watertown police investigators allege Cota forged checks, totaling approximately $1550, in the name of Katherine Cota.

The checks were cashed at Watertown Savings Bank beginning October 8th and continuing through October 14th.

Cota was released after processing with appearance tickets for City of Watertown Court on November 6th.

Brownville man charged with Assault

A Brownville man turned himself in to Watertown police Thursday morning in connection with an incident earlier in the week that left another man injured.

Aaron J. Williams, 34, of 107 Brown Road, Brownville was charged with Assault 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree for the incident at about 7:45 a.m. at 1222 Coffeen Street on Wednesday.

Williams is accused of pushing Timothy C. Fox of Clayton to the ground, causing cuts to his face and hand. According to Mr. Fox, Williams then drove a car over his calculator, destroying the device, valued at $250.

After processing, Williams was released with appearance tickets for Watertown City Court on October 29th.

Two arrested for DWI in same vehicle

Two Watertown men face multiple charges for allegedly attempting to mislead a police officer after their car was stopped at a hotel.

Allen J. Babcock, 23, of 546 Bradley Street was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, Aggravated DWI, Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to Signal when he was taken into custody shortly after midnight Thursday morning.

Another person in the car Babcock was driving, Matthew J. Parker, 21, of 420 S. Pleasant Street, was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, Aggravated DWI and Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Prior to the arrests, an officer observed a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix make a wide turn from Arsenal Street on to Breen Avenue. According to the officer the driver then failed to signal as the car turned on to Cedar Street and pulled into the parking lot of the Travelodge.

The officer said the driver was seen hopping into the backseat and a backseat passenger hopped into the driver seat.

A 15-year-old female was also a passenger in the car.

After processing, Babcock and Parker were released to other people. They are to answer their charges in City of Watertown Court on November 6th.

Accident leads to charges for Watertown man

A Watertown man is facing multiple charges following a traffic accident early Thursday in the city.

Darren J. Simmons, 25, of 312 Howk Street was charged with Aggravated DWI, Under the Influence of Alcohol, two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and two counts of Failure to Keep Right when he was arrested on Black River Parkway at about 1:30 a.m.

Investigators say Simmons was involved in an accident in the 600 block of Huntington Street.

According to information in the WPD arrest report, Simmons’ BAC was .26% when he was tested at the Public Safety Building.

Simmons was held on $500 bail pending arraignment this morning in City of Watertown Court.

Teen charged for Children's Home incident

A teen resident of the Children’s Home in Watertown was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree.

Keith W. Newton, 17, was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. after police were called to investigate an incident in Cottage 2 at the facility on State Street. Newton is accused of damaging the building by kicking a wall.

Newton was transported to the PSB and held on $500 bail pending arraignment in City of Watertown Court Wednesday morning.

Man charged for threat with fake gun

An investigation into a dispute between two men on a Watertown street earlier in the month resulted in the arrest of one of the participants Tuesday.

Thomas E. Rose II, 19, of 750 Lansing Street was charged with Menacing 2nd Degree when he was processed at the PSB Tuesday afternoon.

Watertown PD investigators allege Rose used an imitation firearm to threaten another city resident, Trey-Eric Messina, during a verbal dispute on October 8th.

What appeared to be a black pistol was waved in Mr. Messina’s face during the incident at 500 Jefferson Street, police said.

Following processing, Rose was released with an appearance ticket for Watertown City Court on November 5th.

Man accused of stealing saw

A Watertown man arrested earlier in the month on a drug charge was arrested Tuesday night after a power tool went missing from a building supply store.

Christopher Lee Arruda, 25, of 906 Water Street was charged with Petit Larceny when he was arrested on Waltham Street at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say Arruda is accused of taking a DeWalt reciprocating saw, valued at $199, from the Home Depot store at College Heights a few minutes prior to his arrest.

Arruda was transported to the PSB and held on $500 bail pending arraignment in city court.

On October 8th Watertown PD arrested Arruda for allegedly possessing packets of heroin in September.

Wife accused of hitting husband with car

A Fort Drum woman was arrested Tuesday night when she turned herself in to Watertown police in connection with an incident earlier in the day.

Amanda Leigh Smith, 22, of 9449-D Few Loop, apt 206B, Fort Drum was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree for allegedly putting her husband in jeopardy at about 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators believe Ms. Smith drove her 2004 Chrysler Pacifica into Michael Smith as he walked in front of the vehicle while it was stopped in the 100 block of Arsenal Street.

Smith was held at the PSB pending arraignment in Watertown City Court this morning.

Woman arrested second time in two days

A woman arrested Monday in Watertown was back in custody Tuesday on charges connected to a similar incident at the same location.

Monday evening Kathy Lynn Rapholtz, 47, of 168 Sterling Street was charged with Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass when she was arrested for an incident at 142 Union Street.

Tuesday at about 5:30 p.m. Rapholtz was once again charged with Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree for allegedly entering an apartment at 142 Union Street without permission.

Police also charged Rapholtz with Resisting Arrest for struggling with an officer when he attempted to take her into custody.

Rapholtz was transported to the PSB where she was held on $500 bail pending arraignment this morning in City of Watertown Court.

Calcium man arrested in Watertown

A Calcium man was arrested in Watertown Monday night for allegedly leaving his children in a vehicle while he went into a bar to fight another person.

Eric D. Young IV, 35, of 24024 Bush Road was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree when he was taken into custody at about 10:30 p.m. in the 500 block of West Main Street.

According to investigators Young’s 4-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter were left unattended and out of sight in a vehicle Young went into the Edge of the River pub and became involved in an altercation.

The incident apparently violated a family court order of protection, resulting in the contempt charge.

Young was transported to the PSB and held pending arraignment in Watertown City Court this morning.

Woman charged after window smashed

A Watertown woman was taken into custody Monday evening after a window was broken at another city woman’s residence.

Kathy Lynn Rapholtz, 47, of 168 Sterling Street was charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree when she was arrested on Union Street at about 7:20 p.m. Monday.

Investigators believe it was Rapholtz who threw a large rock through a window at the home of Kathleen Gowing on Union Street.

Rapholtz was transported to the PSB and held on $500 bail pending arraignment in Watertown City Court this morning.

Pito & Gonzales arrested again

Two Watertown men, arrested one week ago for allegedly having stolen license plates, were jailed Monday in connection with thefts at a Watertown convenience store. They were also charged for having more items taken at the time of the earlier theft of the plates.

Joshua L. Peto, 19, of 870 LeRay Street and Tye A. Gonzales, 19, of 24480 State Route 12, apt 107 were initially charged Monday with Petit Larceny after Watertown police investigated the theft of several items from the Nice & Easy store on Factory Street at around 5:00 p.m.

Peto is accused of taking a bag of Combos valued at $2.29. Gonzales is accused of taking a package of Oreo Cakester cookies and a can of WD-40, total value $6.48.

After being taken into custody the two were each charged with Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree when they were each found with a key to separate vehicles taken from West Main Auto on West Main Street on October 14th.

Both Peto and Gonzales were held in Jefferson County Jail on $500 bail pending arraignment this morning in City of Watertown Court.

Watertown man arrested for fight

Watertown police arrested a City man Sunday for a fight with a woman on Ten Eyck Street in the City.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Scott Douglas Feneran of Holcomb Street just after 4:30 pm Sunday on a charge of Disorderly Conduct. According to officers, Feneran was fighting on the 300 block of Ten Eyck Street with Sheryl L. Glasper of Watertown.

Feneran was issued an appearance ticket and released.
